About the Doctor

Dr. Sophie Shirin is a Board Certified dermatologist. She graduated from UMDNJ Robert Wood
Johnson Medical School in 1995. She completed her Dermatology residency at University of California,
Irvine, where she received the Best Resident Teacher Award. Dr. Shirin is an investigator for numerous
research studies in treatment of acne and psoriasis. She authored several scientific publications and a
dermatology textbook chapter. She practices adult and pediatric dermatology. Dermatologic surgery is one
of the areas of Dr. Shirin's expertise and special training. She is a Fellow of the American Society for
Mohs Surgery, which is a micrographic surgical technique for removal of skin cancer with the highest
cure rate. Doctor performs all the skin surgical procedures at her modern office, with several
fully-equipped operating rooms.
Dr. Shirin has special interest in women dermatology and aesthetic dermatology. She is a member of the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery.
